By installing or using Solace, you agree to these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use the app.
1. What Solace is (and isn’t)
Solace is a self-help app for people going through a breakup or heartbreak. It includes journaling, mood tracking, no-contact streaks, breathing exercises, and a friendly AI companion called Pixel.
Solace is NOT a substitute for professional mental health care.
It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. If you’re in crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself, please contact a crisis line (we surface several inside the app under the SOS button) or a licensed professional.
2. The AI (“Pixel”) is not a therapist
Pixel is an AI character that uses large language models to generate supportive responses. It is fast, often empathetic, and occasionally wrong. Treat its replies the way you’d treat a thoughtful friend’s text — useful, but not medical advice.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Solace. By using the app you represent that you are at least 18.
4. Solace Pro (subscriptions)
- Pro is sold via Google Play Billing under the SKUs published in our Play Console.
- Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled.
- Cancel anytime via Google Play → Subscriptions.
- Refunds follow Google Play’s refund policy. We don’t have power over Google’s process; please contact Google Play support first.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t use Solace to:
- Harass, threaten, or harm anyone (including yourself, beyond the scope of normal venting — Pixel will gently redirect)
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our source/keys
- Probe our infrastructure for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure (email us first if you find one — we’ll thank you)
- Resell, repackage, or otherwise commercially exploit the app
6. Content you create
The journal entries, mood logs, and chat messages you create are yours. We claim no ownership.
That said, the AI’s responses are generated by third-party models and aren’t copyrightable in most jurisdictions. Use them however you want.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
Solace is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do our best to make it reliable but we can’t guarantee it’ll always be available, bug-free, or reflect your needs perfectly.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to Solace is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months (which may be zero if you’re a free user).
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Solace shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amman, Jordan, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence require otherwise.
